Brisbane 2019

I arrived early on Sunday the 29th of September, at the Ballistic Beer Co, Salisbury, for The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride (DGR). I was surrounded by bikes of all shapes, sizes, and styles. Everything from Cafe’ Racer, Bobber, Classic, Tracker, Scrambler, Old School Chopper, Modern Classic, Sidecar, Classic Scooter, Brat Styled motorcycles. The riders came dressed in their best for the ride. Dapper Dress was the code, and boy was it amazing!

What is the of DGR?

So to get you up to speed on why motorbike enthusiasts from all over the world gather on the last Sunday of September here are the history deets.

In 2012, Sydney local Mark Hawwa founded The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride to raise funding to support awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. His inspiration came from TV Show Mad Men’s, Don Draper rinding his classic bike and wearing his finest suit. The ride has gone global with to date more than $18.5M raised and over 250K riders taking part in the yearly event.
